Kenan Thompson, best known for his long run on Saturday Night Live, is opening up about what matters most to him these days: being a dad. The father of two young daughters recently shared his thoughts on parenting, his personal style of raising kids, and why he feels a strong pull toward making content for children.
Thompson says he hopes his daughters learn the value of kindness and confidence from watching him. He wants them to see that it is okay to be silly and have fun, but also to stand up for themselves and treat others with respect. He explained that he tries to lead by example, showing them how to handle life's ups and downs without losing their sense of humor.
Beyond the home, the comedian is also focused on creating projects that kids can enjoy. He feels a responsibility to put out positive, entertaining material that families can watch together. For Thompson, the goal is simple: to give his daughters and other children stories and characters that inspire laughter and imagination, just like the shows he loved when he was young. Balancing work and family is not always easy, but he says being a father has given him a new purpose and a clearer view of what really counts.
