Virtual Parenting Classes Scheduled for October and November

Virtual Parenting Classes Scheduled for October and November

The Employee Assistance Program is offering virtual parenting learning sessions based on the program "Love and Logic." Videos, handouts, and discussions will be used to facilitate learning.

The sessions are designed for parents and caregivers who want practical tools for raising children while keeping stress levels manageable. Love and Logic focuses on giving kids choices within safe limits, allowing natural consequences to teach responsibility, and responding to mistakes with empathy rather than anger.

Each virtual meeting will include time to watch short instructional videos, review printed handouts, and talk through real situations parents face at home. Group discussion gives participants a chance to share what works and what does not, and to pick up ideas from others dealing with similar challenges.

The sessions run through October and November. Because they are held online, parents can join from home without arranging childcare or travel. That flexibility makes it easier for busy families to take part, even on weeknights.

Topics include setting limits without fighting, handling backtalk, encouraging good behavior, and staying calm when emotions run high. The approach is meant to be used with children of different ages, from toddlers to teenagers.

Those interested in signing up can contact the Employee Assistance Program for the full schedule and registration details. Space may be limited, so early sign-up is encouraged.
