Preparing for Cold Season as a Mom of Three Young Children

I used to think cold season meant stocking up on tissues, NyQuil, and hoping for the best. Then I had three kids. Now, the stakes are higher, and my approach has transformed into a proactive strategy aimed at keeping my family healthy and comfortable.

As the temperature drops, my first step is to create a wellness kit stocked with essentials. This includes not only tissues and cough syrup but also vitamins, honey, and herbal teas to boost immunity. I also make sure to have a thermometer and a first-aid kit readily available.

In addition to stocking up on supplies, I prioritize hygiene. Frequent handwashing has become a family mantra, and I encourage my kids to wash their hands regularly, especially after playing outside or returning from school.

Furthermore, I ensure that our home is cozy and warm, using humidifiers to keep the air moist and reduce the chances of respiratory issues. With a little preparation and a focus on prevention, I feel more equipped to handle whatever the cold season throws our way.
