MATFORCE and Yavapai Reentry Project Announce Upcoming October Programs: A Virtual Parenting Class and Community Coach Training

Yavapai County, AZ - MATFORCE, a prevention-focused group working to stop youth substance use before it starts, and the Yavapai Reentry Project have released their lineup of free programs for October. The schedule includes a virtual parenting class and a hands-on training session for community coaches.

The virtual parenting class is designed for parents and caregivers who want practical tools for talking with kids about tough topics, setting boundaries, and building trust. Organizers say the session will cover age-appropriate conversations and ways to stay connected during the teenage years. It will be held online so participants can join from home, and no special software is needed beyond a standard internet connection.

The second offering is a community coach training. This session is meant for adults who want to support individuals returning to the community after incarceration. The training will focus on active listening, goal setting, and understanding the barriers people face during reentry. Attendees will leave with a clear picture of what coaching involves and how to step into that role with confidence.

Both programs are free, but space is limited. Anyone interested in signing up or getting more details is encouraged to reach out to either organization directly. MATFORCE has been active in Yavapai County for years, working with schools and local agencies to reduce risky behaviors among young people. The Yavapai Reentry Project focuses on helping formerly incarcerated individuals rebuild their lives with dignity and support.

Organizers hope the October sessions will draw a mix of new and returning participants. They stress that no prior experience is needed for either program, just a willingness to learn and help others.
