Jennifer Lopez's Simple Parenting Trick Kept Her Twins From Being Spoiled

Jennifer Lopez is a multimillionaire, so it is no surprise that her 16-year-old twins, Emme and Max, grew up in the lap of luxury. But according to the singer and actress, that privilege did not automatically translate into spoiled behavior. In a recent interview, Lopez revealed a simple but firm parenting trick she used to keep her children grounded: they had to earn their own money.

Rather than handing over unlimited cash, Lopez made her kids work for the things they wanted. She explained that if they wanted a new toy or a special treat, they had to do chores around the house to earn an allowance. This approach taught them the value of a dollar from a very young age. "They know that nothing is just given to them," Lopez said. "If they want something, they have to put in the effort."

The strategy appears to have worked. While the twins certainly enjoy the benefits of their mother's fame and fortune, they are known for being polite and hardworking. Lopez credits the system with helping them develop a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility. She emphasized that the goal was never to deprive them, but to prepare them for the real world. "It's about teaching them that money doesn't grow on trees," she added. "Even if it does in our house, they still have to plant the seeds."
