Dylan Dreyer Shares the Part of Parenting That Doesn’t Come Naturally to Her

Dylan Dreyer, known for her sunny presence on the "Today" show, recently opened up about a side of motherhood that does not feel natural to her. During a conversation with Neha Ruch, author of "The Power Pause," on Dreyer's podcast "The Parent Chat," the television host made a candid confession about the challenges of raising her three young sons.

Dreyer admitted that the constant noise and chaos of a busy household are hard for her to handle. She explained that she is not naturally a "sit on the floor and play" kind of mom. Instead, she prefers structure and quiet, which can clash with the high-energy demands of her boys, Cal, Rhett, and Oliver. "I love them more than anything," she said, "but the sensory overload is real. I have to work hard to meet them where they are."

The mom of three also touched on the guilt that comes with not loving every moment. She noted that social media often paints a picture of perfect, joyful parenting, but her reality includes moments of frustration and exhaustion. Dreyer stressed that it is okay for parents to admit when something feels difficult. By sharing her own struggles, she hopes to normalize the idea that loving your kids and finding parenting hard can exist at the same time. Her honesty resonated with listeners, reminding them that even TV personalities face the same everyday battles at home.
