Denise Richards recently celebrated her daughter Eloise's 15th birthday by sharing sweet family photos and a heartfelt message. "I can't believe 15 yrs old already," the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 55, wrote in a touching post. But behind the birthday smiles, Richards has been candid about the real struggles of parenting a child with special needs.
In a new interview, the actress described the experience as "challenging" in ways she never expected. She explained that while there is immense joy in watching Eloise grow, the daily demands can be exhausting. "It's a different kind of parenting," Richards said. "You have to be patient, flexible, and ready for anything at any moment." She noted that simple tasks like doctor visits, therapy sessions, and managing routines require constant attention and energy.
Richards also spoke about the emotional toll, admitting that she sometimes feels isolated. "People don't always understand what it's like," she said. "You love your child more than anything, but there are moments when you feel completely overwhelmed." She emphasized the importance of having a support system and not being afraid to ask for help.
Despite the difficulties, Richards remains grateful. She called Eloise a "bright light" in her life and said the bond they share is unbreakable. "She teaches me something new every day," Richards added. "It's not always easy, but it's absolutely worth it."
