Cullman County Schools offering free parenting support program

Cullman County Schools has opened enrollment for a new free parenting support initiative designed to help families navigate the challenges of raising children. The program, which is available to all residents of the county, focuses on practical strategies for communication, discipline, and building healthy family routines.

Organizers say the effort comes in response to growing requests from parents who want more guidance but cannot afford private counseling or coaching. The program is led by trained facilitators and covers topics such as managing screen time, handling tantrums, and supporting children through school-related stress. Sessions are structured for different age groups, from early childhood through the teenage years.

Classes will be held at various school campuses and community centers across the county, with both daytime and evening options to accommodate working parents. Childcare is provided on site at no cost, and materials are available in English and Spanish. While the program is open to anyone, priority registration is given to families with children currently enrolled in Cullman County Schools.

School officials emphasize that the program is not about fixing problems but about building confidence in parents. They point out that many caregivers feel isolated, and the group setting allows them to share experiences and learn from one another. The first series of sessions begins next month, and interested families can register through the district's family engagement office.
