For many parents, sending a child to boarding school is not an easy decision. It is an emotional one. Will they miss home too much? Will they feel lonely? Or will living away from family actually make them stronger, more independent, and better prepared for life? Bollywood actor Kajol seems to have a clear answer.
In an old interview, the actor spoke about why she strongly believes boarding schools can be good for children. She even revealed that she had already sent her daughter to boarding school, and hopes to do the same for her son. Her reasons had nothing to do with better grades or strict discipline. They came from a simple parenting belief, one about raising children who are independent, grounded, and responsible.
Kajol explained that children need exposure beyond their immediate family circle. She argued that relying only on parents can sometimes limit a child's growth. Being in a boarding school forces them to interact with different people, solve their own problems, and learn how to manage their time. She said that children need more than just their parents to grow into well-rounded adults.
She also admitted that the decision was not easy. She missed her daughter deeply at first. But she believes that the long-term benefits outweigh the short-term pain. For her, the goal is to raise children who can stand on their own feet, not ones who depend on their parents for every small thing.
