LA CROSSE, Wis. – On Tuesday afternoon, employees from Altra Federal Credit Union gathered to assemble and distribute diaper kits in support of the Parenting Place, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families. The volunteer effort aimed to address a critical need in the community, providing essential baby supplies to parents and caregivers who may be facing financial challenges.
The credit union’s team worked together to package diapers, wipes, and other infant care items into individual kits, which were then delivered directly to the Parenting Place for distribution. According to organizers, the initiative was part of Altra’s broader commitment to community service and family well-being. “We recognize that diapers are a basic necessity, yet they can be a significant expense for many families,” a spokesperson for the credit union stated during the event. “By assembling these kits, we hope to ease some of that burden and allow parents to focus on what matters most—caring for their children.”
The Parenting Place, which offers parenting education, resources, and support programs, will distribute the kits to families enrolled in their services. The nonprofit’s staff expressed gratitude for the donation, noting that such contributions help bridge gaps in access to essential goods. The event also highlighted the power of corporate volunteerism, as Altra employees donated their time and energy to ensure the kits were assembled efficiently and with care.
This marks the latest in a series of community-focused projects by Altra Federal Credit Union, which has a history of partnering with local organizations to address pressing social needs. The diaper kit assembly not only provided tangible aid but also reinforced the importance of collaborative support for families in the region.
